24 июня Верховный суд США отменил решение 1973 года по делу «Роу против Уэйда», которое признавало право на аборт конституционным. За отмену решения проголосовали пять консервативных судей, среди которых только одна женщина. Трех из них назначил Дональд Трамп.

Washington Post пишет, что после решения Верховного суда аборты могут стать нелегальными в 20 штатах. Но суд в каждом случае определит, с какого срока женщинам нельзя будет пойти на такую процедуру. Например, в Техасе с 2021 года уже действует закон «о сердцебиении» — по нему прерывать беременность нельзя с шестой недели. Это касается даже подростков, жертв изнасилований и инцеста.

Жесткое антиабортное законодательство действует и в Европе. Один из самых жестких законов — в Польше. До осени 2020 года там делать аборт разрешалось, если женщина стала жертвой изнасилования, если беременность угрожала здоровью или жизни матери и если у плода была неизлечимая болезнь. Но с начала 2021 года вступил в силу запрет Конституционного суда страны на аборты в связи патологией плода.

По официальным данным, на которые ссылается «Настоящее время» (объявлено «иностранным агентом»), ежегодно в Польше совершается около двух тысяч абортов. Правозащитники утверждают, что каждый год больше 200 тысяч польских женщин прерывают беременность за границей или нелегально.
