Enemy fires 114 projectiles at Sumy region, landmark damaged

On January 1, 2023, Russian troops attacked five border communities in the Sumy location, having fired 114 projectiles. A neighborhood landmark was reported ruined.

The suitable statement was produced by Sumy Regional Navy Administration Head Dmytro Zhyvytskyi on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent stories.

In certain, Russian invaders fired 15 rockets with several start rocket programs (MLRS) at the Esman local community. Fifteen additional strikes were launched with cannon artillery.

The enemy also struck the Hlukhiv group with MLRS, having fired 20 projectiles.

The Shalyhyne community was shelled with 120-mm mortars: 11 explosions had been recorded. 10 far more strikes had been launched with cannon artillery.

On top of that, six enemy shells exploded at the border with the Krasnopillia community.

The Bilopillia community was struck with 120-mm mortars twice. Twenty-7 explosions had been recorded.

In accordance to Zhyvytskyi, a nearby landmark was hit, i.e. the wooden church of St. Barbara. Moreover, a monument, cultural corridor and setting up of the council of prefects had been weakened.
